Research and Synthesis of Sensor Analytics Ecosystems to bring value to the Internet of Things

  • The IoT is developing within silos. This is preventing the hype and promise of IoT technologies, processes and solutions from being fully realized. Sensor Analytics Ecosystems (SensAE) can overcome these silos through architecture, open standards and an IoT maturity model that reflects cultural, regulatory, economic, political and environmental factors within a system of system philosophy.
  • There is still confusion as to what the Internet of Things is really all about, which prevents organizations and individuals from truly benefitting from IoT efforts. This post draws from our experience lecturing to ACM students, and advising corporate R&D groups. Even though the IoT is developing in silos, value can still be brought through these silos. However, the real potential of IoT is in breaching these silos, and, within an ethical framework of understanding adoption factors, use IoT data and sensor analytics in broad ecosystems.
